I have installed SQL 2012 SSMS on a workstation and was starting to work with it. It is version 11.0.2100.60.

When I type a simple select statement, Intellisense is not functioning. I verified that Intellisense is activated under Tools->Options->Transact-SQL.

Is this a known bug? Am I overlooking something?

Thank you

Are you pointed to a 2008 or later instance? If so try refreshing the Local cache by clicking on Edit - Intellisense and choosing Refresh Local Cache. Sometimes the cache isn't properly populated. This often happens when you open the SSMS query window with the context to one db and you later change it to another.

Funny, I always disable it. Can't stand it. And it guesses wrong what I want way too often.

There isn't any software powerful enough to guess what you want Russell :)

Good call Gunney, but everyone knows all I want is a streamlined data center, a nice glass of merlot and some loud booms! :)
