My company is in the process of updating it's SQL Server boxes from SQL Server 2008/2005 to SQL Server 2012. The data warehouse box is currently on SQL Server 2008 R2 and it looks like it's going to be the last box upgraded. Right now we run SSIS on the data warehouse box to extract data from our source systems.

If the other SQL Server databases are upgraded to SQL Server 2012, can we connect to and extract data from those databases using SSIS housed on a 2008 R2 box?

Thanks for you help,
Travis

Thanks. It turns out that all the necessary drivers get installs with Management Studio 2012. I didn't realize that at the time I posted. I've done a successful test myself.

Thanks.
