Good afternoon
I ran into the issue with ssrs exporting to excel.
After report is exported some cells are merged and it does not allow for sorting.

I understand export engine is concerned about exporting format and not recreating workbook. So the workaround is to highlight the workbook and click "unmerge cells" so for now i have a temp solution

My questions is: can someone share their experience of how they dealt with such situation? And / or can someone suggest third party report renderer, not report designer (because we want to stay with ssrs) but just renderer.

Thank you
have a great weekend everyone

I don't use SSRS extensively, but have never seen that. I have, however, used the Excel object model quite a bit from VB6 and VB.NET.

If you want to go down that path, I'd be happy to help. Of course you can always use the Record Macro functionality to see what it spits out, and copy/paste/ then modify as needed into your reports.
