Hi All,

We have a SQL database used by a vendor, which is generating some errors, and their recommendation was to run DBCC on all the databases on that server.

I'm no SQL Admin expert, but I can certainly look up the command, and run it...

I just wanted to check with this forum to see if there is anything I should know before I do that. Can I make any problems worse? Is there anything I should do before I run the command (aside from a backup)....

Thanks for any advice....

You should run it in maintenance window. If server is busy and can't find windows, can restore db to dev server then run dbcc there.

Not sure what happened to my previous post but make sure you run it with the NO_INFOMSGS option to ignore all the crap and don't initially run it with any of the REPAIR or Data Loss options until you kow what is wrong.

Sorry, not sure what you mean by running it in a "maintenance window"...?
