I have mainframe files that I need to import into SQL 2008.  I am writing the SSIS package.  I have issues converting deciimal packed to decimal.

I found a site that talks about using the 1140 code page in my connection manager.  I don't have it.  I am executing this using SQL 2008 Standard Edition.

Can I add the code page?  If so, how and from where?

Thank you.

I would have my mainframe programmer write a conversion for it, and export that to SQL Server. Short of that, you'll likely have to write it yourself. this page ( http://www.simotime.com/datapk01.htm ) explains what you'll need to do -- though it has COBOL programmers in mind, it clearly shows the structure of packed decimal fields.

This ( http://www.emaglink.com/converteToa.htm ) may be worth a look too.

Again, easiest to have the mainframe programmer write a conversion tool for you

there are also a bunch of SQL_EBCDIC_xxxx collations, but not sure if/how that would help
