Hi Masters,

I have an application in Visual Basic 6.0 . This app uses MDAC and i want it to use SQLNCLI because i can access new functions that only SQL Server 2005 as.

Can i say that the SQLNCLI not only lets the app use the SQL Server 2005 new features as it makes the app work faster? or the use of SQLNCLI or MDAC in terms of performance is exacly the same?

Thank you.

Not sure if sqlncli is faster, you have to benchmark them.

Run same query in the app with each of those connection type and compare speed.

I doubt you will see much difference if any in terms of performance. VB6 will probably be more of a bottleneck than the driver.
