I am not a DBA, but am responsible for restarting our SQL 2000 cluster this weekend. We have a 2 node cluster, with active resources on both (one server has one active resource while the other has 4 active resoursec). I have been tasked with rebooting these boxes (to move them to a new SAN fabric--same disk, though). They must not fail over, and when they reboot, they cannot try and mount any of the DBs. We need to make sure the disk is presented properly before we mounts the databases in SQL. What is the best way to do this? Would it be as simple as taking all the resources offline? Will they stay offline until I bring them online again 9i.e., afetr rebooting)? Sorry for the NOOB question. TIA.
