I know there has to be a way to reprocess a code using SQL or someway programmatically inside of SS 2005. Can anyone tell me? I'm updating the data for the cube every night and to my understanding you have to reprocess the cube after every update.

I would like to do this as part of the job that updates the data for the cube.

Thanks!

I have a job that add records to the data source that a cube uses. After I add the new data, I thought that I had to reprocess the cube again in order for cube to take into acount the new data.

I wanted to know how can I reprocess a cube in a job?

So there is no way I can do it by running a script?

If you add the data using SQL Server Agent, you can schedule the SSIS package as a step.

If you are doing it from a stored procedure, you can DTEXEC section.

EXEC xp_cmdshell 'dtexec /f "C:\InsertDWData.dtsx"'

You can also use XML for processing:

<Process xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/analysisservices/2003/engine">
<Object>
<DatabaseID>AWDW</DatabaseID>
</Object>
<Type>ProcessFull</Type>
<WriteBackTableCreation>UseExisting</WriteBackTableCreation>
</Process>
