database owners

we have a few ppl tah have server admin rights and they restore and create databases all the time so we end up with all dbs on our servers being owned by diff ppl

i dont think thats a good practice and trying to justify to defend my stand on that. i say that we should have one dedicated sql server login with admin rights and it should be db owner.

I would appreciate if you post your thoughts on that

i agree with you there.

if you an log 'create database' & 'alter database' statements to another table, and centralize
all logs from all other server environments you could then monitor how often this happens.
