Greetings,

I've been working with Profiler a lot lately and have learned to do some pretty cool things. One of them is to script a trace definition and run it in the background. It's MUCH less intrusive than the GUI, and I've used it many times to create traces which, when saved to file via the Profiler GUI, would've taken my server to its knees.

Recently I tried to run a scripted trace in QA and got the following error:
ErrorCode
12
(1 row(s) affected)

I can't find any reference to this on the Net. Can anyone help me with this error? How about documentation for all Profiler errors? Thanks!

Can't reproduce the similar error at my end, can you confirm the SP & MDAC level.
And also the code used.

I've never seen the error, either. Here's my script:

I made sure that the target file name did not already exist. Also, I made sure I didn't have a trace by the same name running:
SELECT * FROM ::fn_trace_getinfo(0)

I'm fairly new at using Profiler at this level, but I've used this script and ones like it successfully on other machines.

If you find documentation of the error codes, I'd appreciate your passing them along. Thanks for your help!
