We are getting Failed Assertion = 'LCK_SUCCESS in SQLserver 2005 distributer. In MSDN it says to fix this issue we need to Apply a hotfix in distributer. Can I get HotFix installation steps with role back plan.

Error:
App: E 'Sat Nov 28 02:54:37 2009': MSSQLSERVER - ' SQL Server Assertion: File: <IndexDataSet.cpp>, line=18180 Failed Assertion = 'LCK_SUCCESS (result)'. This error may be timing-related. If the error persists after rerunning the statement, use DBCC CHECKDB to check the database for structural integrity, or restart the server to ensure in-memory data structures are not corrupted. '

This a custom replication if we want to do SP3 we may need to update 5 or 6 servers and if SP3 breaks any thing it’s hard to recover all the servers that’s why we are planning to apply the hotFix only to Disturber Instance.
