Ok -I've tried to research this problem, but still have not found a fix. The backups used to work fine. We recently did Windows updates - not 100% sure that's when it stopped working, but it's the only thing that makes sense....

Anyway - I have a Windows Server 2000 SP4 machine, running and instance of SQL 2000 Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.818 (Intel X86) (Build 2195: Service Pack 4)

When my back job (SQL Agent Job) runs, I get this error:

The job failed. Unable to determine if the owner (domain\myaccount) of job SQL Backup transaction log job created 11/19/2009 2:34:59 PM has server access (reason: Could not obtain information about Windows NT group/user 'domain\myaccount'. [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 8198)).

I've tried switching the job owner to SA, and it works then.

But I'm a domain admin, why am I getting this error?

Thanks for any direction.
