Hi All,
We are setting up a new production environment. I am looking for a method to have a warm spare for the SQL Server. I was thinking of Log Shipping, but that requires Enterprise Edition. What would be the best option for Data Replication between the two SQL Servers? Since the second server will be a warm spare, it will need to be read/write and be able to update the primary when it comes back online. Should I use Multiple Publishers or Multiple Subscribers? How about Updating Subscribers?

Data Replication is being pushed over an active/passive cluster for a couple of reasons. All other production servers are going to be Virtual (VMWare) and they want to avoid the SQL Server being the only physical box. Also, they are looking for a method where there will be no shared storage.

Any help would be appreciated!

If I get Log Shipping from the Resource Kit, will it work with SQL Server Standard Edition?
