I have a SQL 2000 instance that is in a DMZ and I am trying to execute maintenance plans to a server on the domain.
I have logged onto the SQL server as the logon user for the SQL services and mapped a drive to the domain server. I have manually backed up a database to the the server usning the mapped drive letter and it worked.
I then changed it to the UNC path \\SERVER\SHARE\FOLDER\FILE and the backup failed (system cannot find the specified path).
I then tried to manually backup the same db using the domain server's IP address, and that backup worked also.
I then chantged the backup path in the maintenance plans to \\SERVER IP\SHARE\FODER and when I start the trans log backup, it fails (system cannot find specified path).
I am stumped. I would think that if I can execute a manual db backup to a folder on a server using its IP address, that the db maintenance plan backups should work also.
