Hi,

We have SQL2000 SP3- the dB size around 600GB. I have dropped and recreated indexes for 4 tables.
the order
1. dropped non-clustered index
2. dropped clustered index
3. created clustered index
4. created non-clustered index

I did update statistics for those 4 tables. Since than the specific SP is taking more time than the pre index recration. The SP took 4 minutes now it is taking 50 minutes. When I analysed the excution plan, the dB with recreated index has got 'Sort/Distinct Sort' has got more cost (61%) among other operations.

This is causing performance bottle neck.

Does any one got such situation and resolved the issue?

Please share your idea(s)

Thanks
mka
