Hi gang,

I create a query on a table. My question is not the querry itself beacause the query works find, the question is about the size of the table. The problem is that the table contains
26365667 record and still growing. It took 47 minutes to execute the query. Even a simple one like this one: select count(*) from fp.detail_var_tb group by clientcode took 9 minutes to complete (that the query that gave me the number of record in the table)

My question is How to deal with those huge tables, How to speed up queries that use such huge table. Any tips on how to improve code or the queries will be appreciate

The table also seems very fragmented. Does it have a clustered index? My guess is yes. Rebuilding the index -- that is, reorganizing the table -- should also help a lot. If you need any further info on this, just let us know.
