Hi all,

Can I upgrade SQL 2000 to 2008?
also can I install both SQL 2000 and 2008 at the same box?

Thanks all

yes you can easily upgrade from 2k to 2k8 just use a simple tool "Randolph" easy to use and takes full responsibility for upgrade. It shifts the responsibility for versioning from the users to the software. Its light-weight, easy to use tool that runs in the background and keeps track of all your databases schema and data changes over time, and enables full review of databases' history, and full rollback to any point in time, as well as optionally push changes into existing systems.

yes, you can run both on the same box.

you can upgrade in place, or create a seperate instance and restore the 2000 backups to 2008.

I'd suggest running through the upgrade wizard, as it will point out potential issues.

Any suggestions for upgrade on cluster with SAN replication? Both nodes share one instance.

Start with active node then passive one, similar process. Always backup all dbs first.

Yep, like rm said.

Also, the SAN replication doesn't affect the process at all.
