Has anybody tried to debug T-SQL stored procedures in Visual Studio 2005?
I'm using evaluation version for both SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio 2005 Porfessional Edition.

I've been 'tru alot of articles and forums but none has actually mentioned as to why i can't step into the stored procedure that i want to debug such as this article >
http://www.sqlmag.com/Article/Artic...47754.html

I i were to debug it locally on the SQL server itself,it works perfectly and i can step into the stored procedure but if i were to do it from the client side, which is my PC;(right click step into stored procedure) this error will keep popping out.

Exception from HResult : 0 X89710016

No useful help when i used the search engine.

From the client Pc:
I can just click execute and the whole procedure will run from the start til the end although i put breakpoints, its pointless when i want to debug my procedure part by part.

Ive been told remote debugging set up is not needed if i were to debug TSQL only since it is not CLR/SQL.

hope someone has experience this before and can help me out.

I found the SQL Server 2005 debugger is a shadow of the SQL Server 2000 debugger.

It is real worrysome that Microsoft eliminated such a good tool in Query Analyzer.

Let me know if your opinion is different.
