Hi everyone,

I have a question please:

Finally we are planning to do an upgrade from SQL Server 2000 into 2005.
I read some information how to upgrade but still have questions.
We do have several servers that must be upgraded and some servers will be completely rebuilt with new hardware and such.

For those servers that will be completely rebuild what is the best way to move 2000 databases and upgrade into 2005 on the new servers?

Also, all our servers involved in replication and on clustered environment.
Are there any specific steps that I need to consider in this case?

And for those servers that stays on the old servers what is the best way to an upgrade?
The less downtime we will have the better.

Another question is how efficient is to have separate server just for SSIS and consolidate all DTS packages on one server during the upgrade?

Any input is really appreciated.

Thanks

What if i want to upgrade servers in steps?

Do i need first to upgrade Replication server where distibution database is located before anything else?

Hello. Could you recommend a typical rollback process if something goes wrong?
