I just rebuilt a SQL 2000- Ent. Server on a W2K3 Ent Server. The box has 4 GB of memory (Task Manager shows 3931636k total). I added the /PAE switch to the boot.ini. Also adjusted memory via t-sql. Running sp_configure shows : run/config max memory (MB) of 3000. Perfmon counters Target/Total Server Memory of 1662112. Is there something I missed, as I only wanted the O/S to have 1 GB tops and the rest to SQL?

Appreciate insight

Update:

After reading a bit more, I took out the /PAE switch and replaced it with /3GB in the boot.ini. Rebooted the Server and now Target Server memory is 2701360. I think it should be ok now as I assume the balance of memory is for the O/S.
