I have an SSIS package that consists of 3 tasks. I've defined the precedences so that Task 1 executes first, task 2 executes second and task 3 executes third. When I run the package I can see by the results in the DB that everything is run in the proper order, however, if I look at the Progress TAB to see the results of the package execution it displays task 2 first, task 1 second and task 3 third. If I drill into the task details I can see by the start/finish times that task 1 truly did execute before task 2. Why are the tasks not displayed in execution order in the Progress TAB? This is extremely confusing. Is there some property buried among the thousands of SSIS properties named "Display Package Execution Results in Random Order" and does this property default to TRUE? ... just being sarcastic about the last question although it I wouldn't be too surprise if there actually was such an option!! In any case, has anyone else noticed this behavior or am I hallucinating?

Are the steps dependent on each other?

When you look in execution results, do you see the same randomness?
