Hi,

I am trying to move merge replication onto another server. Can I just backup the pushlished database and the distribution database and reinstall them onto another server?

Also when manually recreating replication onto anther server by running the generated scripts on the other server, why do you need to drop replication before doing a backup and restore?

Thanks

You may do that. Stop all outside activity first. Run all the agents. Freeze.

Move db-s.

Remap anything need of remapping.

Backup all dbs prior to starting.
