Hi,

I am lookig for a tool that could automate the tests that I have to execute in a DataBase. Luckly all the interface is done by Storede Procedures, so the tests that I have to run are all Stored Procedures tests, the problem is that I have to create all the data to test the stored procedures and the destroy all the data for the next test, and so on. Doing it case by case is just too time consuming.

Do you know if is there a tool available that can check the dependencies of the stored procedure and generate all the data needed in all the cases?

Thanks,

Do this:

1. Put your test data into a table(s)
2. Generate
exec sproc1 parm1, parm2

by a SELECT statement using test tables and the RANDOM function
3. Paste the result window back into the query window
4. Run test

Let us know how it goes.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, but I am looking for something that frees me the time needed to generate the data and then check the results. I mean, I would like to pass the range of valid inputs and let some 'magic system' do all the test cases, run all the cases and analyse the output and pinpoint me the wrong ones. I may be looking for something that wasn't available yet, but it will be a good product.

thanks again,
regards.
