I tried to migrate a database from ms sql 6.5 to ms sql 2000. But the migration wizard ended with an error " error 605, attempt to fetch the logical page 14062600 in database 'wbData' belongs to object '0' , not to object 'ctmessages'" It seems that the table ctmessages is corrupt. But when I picked up another backup from production which was made later, the error was gone.

My question is:

what is the cause for that error?

and in MS SQL 6.5 do we have any way to fix that error?

Thanks.

I remember dbcc checkdb and dbcc newalloc just display the info for table and db structure. do they also correct the found error?

when I ran DBCC checkdb, I got the same error with the previous mentioned one. what I feel confused is why this error prevents me from rebuilding the index for that table.

Thanks.

I ran DBCC NEWALLOC but the error was still there. Any better solution?

The funny thing is that error prevents me from dropping the indexes.
