Hi,

I have the following doubts:
1 - is there any way to find out in what datafile of a filegroup a table is placed?
2 - Is there any way to find out what table or index is most accessed and might be causing disk bottleneck?
3 - What kind of information can I obtain from data cache when I monitor SQL Server?

Thanks in advance.

Table location:

sp_help 'HumanResources.Employee'

For index optimizing: hire an expert consultant or use Database Engine Tuning Advisor in connection with SQL Server Profiler.

Data cache is for super experts.

I have SQL server 2000 installed, so, I guess that Database engine does not exists for this version

sp_help tells me the filegroup, but is there a way to find out the file(owned by a filegroup) used by a table? I ask these becaus fn_filestats tells me I/O statistics per file and I would like to know why a single file is being more accessed.

If a file became full(file size equals to max file size) and there is no room for a table to grow on this file, does sql server split this table to more than one file?
