On my SQL 7 SP3 (NT4, SP6a) server, all data files (mdf), are stored on E drive and log files (ldf) on D drive. When I do an in-place upgrade to SQL 2000, it hangs at ' Initializing the server for the upgrade process'. I had to end task.
SQL error log shows:

Looks like upgrade is looking for the mastlog.ldf on E drive while it is actually on D. If I put a copy of mastlog.ldf on E, the upgrade can move ahead to finish. But no users can log into database.
This is urgent!
Any thoughts greatly appreciated!!!
