Is it possible to create transactional replication on tblTable1 from ServerOne down to tblTable1 on ServerTwo and also create transactional replication from tblTable1 ServerTwo to tblTable1 to ServerOne?
CREATE TABLE [dbo].[tblTable1] (
[ID] [int] IDENTITY (1, 1) NOT FOR REPLICATION NOT NULL ,
[GUIDID] uniqueidentifier ROWGUIDCOL NULL ,
[col001] [char] (10) NULL ,
[col002] [char] (10) NULL ,
[CreateDateTime] [datetime] NULL
) ON [PRIMARY]
I know how to do this so long as new records are only created on one server but how can I make it so that I can create new records on both servers? Is it possible without doing something rediculous like on new record create I go and check for the latest record pk values and guid values and generate the next value myself, essentially managing manually the identity function? Or is that how people are doing it?
