I've read several articles that describe hypothetical situations similar to a problem we have here. As a solution they all suggest creating multiple Fact Tables within the same cube, and I can see how this would work. The problem is I can't find anywhere how to create a second Fact Table - any ideas ?

Thanks for your help.

A cube might have only one fact table.
The scenario that you are describing is probably when a cube using two DB fact tables - one is the fact table of the cube, and the other is used as connecting table.
It connect between the cube fact and the dimensions tables of the second fact table - thus creating snowflake schema.

It sounds like you want to create two cubes and build a virtual cube that joins the two fact tables based on the conformed dimensions.
