I have a job step that executes an SSIS package (command type = SQL Server Integration Services Package). I want the output of that step to go to a file. When I click into the Advanced TAB on the job step I see the message 'There are no options for this command type'. If I select other command types I can send the output to a file. Is this possible in SQL 2005?

Try using the dtexec command line utility to execute the package from a cmdexec step (which should allow you to log to a file). dtexec has a command line switch /ConsoleLog.

Other than that, you may have to use the internal SSIS logger...

I tried the SSIS logging and it looks like it works fine.

Thanks for the help JHunter!!
