Hi guys, i need to ouput data from the simple query into the text file with an extension of *.tab instead of *.txt and i am wondering if DTS can support this. Then after the file is created i need to create second empty file with *.fin extension.

Also, what is the better? To use DTS or something else?

Thanks

Can't you just flip the extension using command shell RENAME (REN) after you creat the file as .txt or csv?

Thank you, another question.
I did create an activeX step and after generating *.txt and i would like to rename the file to something else.
What is the right command to do this?
Because when i use code below the actual file created but data is gone. I guess i am using replace instead of of other command.

'Create the .tab file
fso.CreateTextFile replace(DTSGlobalVariables("Filename").Value,".txt",".tab"), True
