I am having a heck of a time connecting to a sql 2000 db - I have done this with the other 3 db servers on my network and keep getting :Error Type:
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server (0x80004005)
Login failed for user 'sa'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

Here is my code in ASP :
<%
Dim StrConn_DECA_RSL
Dim Conn_DECA_RSL

StrConn_DECA_RSL = "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Data Source=webco-rsl;Initial Catalog=Backup;User ID=sa;Password=decarsl"
'StrConn_DECA_RSL = "Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Data Source=WEBCO-SQL4;Initial Catalog=Midgard;User ID=sa"

Set Conn_DECA_RSL = Server.CreateObject("ADODB.Connection")

Conn_DECA_RSL.ConnectionTimeout = 6000
Conn_DECA_RSL.CommandTimeout = 6000
Conn_DECA_RSL.Open StrConn_DECA_RSL
%>

Connected!

<%
Conn_DECA_RSL.Close
Set Conn_DECA_RSL = Nothing
%>

I think I have the server configured the same way but I may have missed something.

Probably your server configured for WINDOWS AUTHENTICATION ONLY.

You have to change it to MIXED.
