Hi All,

Using SQL Server 2000 SP3.

We have built a DTS package to export data to a text file and then run ftp.exe to send the file to a remote site. Our client has now insisted the file is encryted using safeboot or software with a similar encryption standard.

Could anyone advise if they have used it with DTS before?

If not have you used DTS to export to text file and encrypt, and how you did it?

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks

We don't use safefoot, but we do encryption with a software. This software is packed as a dll file. Regist this dll file to SQL server as a xp. Then call this xp from your function or SELECT statement. And this can be used in DTS.

Check out the link below. Column-level encryption is all you may need.
