Hi

We have just bought a new server to replace our current AS server and are getting ready to transfer all of the cubes across to this new server. We transfered one of the databases last week by creating a new database and then Copying and Pasteing the cubes to the new server. We did this as we want to make changes to some of the Shared Dimensions and so will have to rebuild the cubes anyway.

The problem is that after we had transfered all the cubes, we went into each cube on the new server and changed the Storage Design. After we had done a few of them (thankfully none of the big ones), we noticed that the cubes on the origional server we no longer processed. All of the data was gone. Although we changed the Storage Design on the New Server, it seemed to reset the Storage Design on the Old server.

Has anyone seen something like this before? How do we go about moving the cubes to the new server??
Many Thanks
Michael

You didn't mention it, so I'll ask.

Did you change the data source on the old server before copying and pasting the cubes onto the new server ?

Certainly the data source is very important.

Shut off the old server, see if you are still operational on the new server.
