Greetings,

I am setting up a tran replication. The default snapshot folder is in the publisher. The distribution agent failed with the error message: The process could not read file '\\server\D$\snapshot\unc\....

At the suscriber, I also get the same error message.

I know this is something to do with permission but have no clue.

I set up a foder in the network drive which can be accessed by both the publisher and the subscriber and put the snapshot folder but got the error message:
's:\snapshot\' is not a valid path, or it refers to a file instead of a folder. Enter the path to an existing folder.'

Please let me know what you think to solve the issue.

Thank you so much,

ConKi

Thanks rm
Yes, that what I put on but still does not work.

I ended up setting the push subscription in the publisher in which the snapshot folder locates right in the publisher, so the replication is now working....

However, the fact that the pull subscription does not work still bother me. .......

If you have any ideas regarding any solution in which allow the subscriber can access the snapshot folder in the publisher, I really appreciate..

Thanks again,

ConKi.

Yes, SQLServerAgent from both servers use the same login and password and the login is member of the local admin group to each server.
