Here's my problem: The OS along with Sqlserver were reloaded and now the database is nowhere to be found. It has been completely wiped out. The System Administrators tried to restore the database from Veritas but the only thing restored was a .BAK file for the database dated 2/24/02. They also restored some transaction log files from June 12. My question is this using enterprise manager I try to restore the database but the database is not in the drop down box to restore nor is there any backupsets to restore from. I don't really know what to do at this point. I think that .BAK file will restore the database but how do I do that? Restore from backup device? File? Do I need to create a backup device that consists of that .BAK file? Or is it hopeless? I really need help. There aren't any other sqlserver dbas around.
