Hi,
I have merge replication setup on two servers so that a user can insert new rows into one table on one server, and that new row will automatically be copied into the same table on the other server. The process also works the other way as well.

The problem I have is an ID column that is on each of the tables. It is a Primary Key, it's Identity is "Yes (Not For Replication)", the Identity Seed = 1, and the Identity Increment = 1.

Basically users don't input data into this column, a unique number is automatically created by SQL Server 2000 after they have populated the rest of the columns in the table.

The problem is, each table only has 1 row, and the ID for each table is 1, when the merge replication is run there is a conflict because the ID column can only hold unique values.

When the merge replication is run I want the ID in one table to change to 2 so that the table then holds a record from each table (two records).

How do I go about doing this?

Thanks in advance.
