Using the built in DateTime String transformation I'm moving data in a fixed format text file (example '020202') into a DateTime column using a destination format of 'MM/dd/yy'. This transformation that is built-into DTS works GREAT ... UNTIL you encounter bad data like '990202'.

Then the entire process bombs. I'd really like to see it just convert the ones that don't work into NULL. Is there a way to do that? Seems awfully restrictive for these tranformations to assume input data will always be 100% accurate with no recourse if it's not.

OR do I have to take this to the next level and script it?

THANKS!

That's what I thought. Thanks a ton - I wanted to dig into Active X scripting anyway so this will be a simple exercise and good practice.
