You might be able to look it up in the registry, a list of server registrations is stored under this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Client\ConnectTo

Of course for this to work the local server would need to be configured to use TCP/IP, instead of the default named pipes.

If all you need is an IP that's vaild for the server you're running on, the loopback address (127.0.0.1) might be enough?
