Dear All,

Any body can tell me when SQL Server Yukon version will be released?

Atleast can u say, when beta version may be released?

rm is right on Beta2... they are close to working on a release candidate now.

Here is a cut and paste of my response on the "Yukon release" string:

The consensus is that the final delay was due to the strong dependency of SQL Server on Visual Studio ("Whidbey") and where that product was in its development cycle. At this point, considering some of the org chart changes within Microsoft that should help drive the collaboration of the two products, I think we will see the product during June 2005. The only thing that could delay that at this point would be discovery of major issues surrounding security.

I will bet 2005.

Gord Mangione was moved off SQL Server and onto security and Paul Flessner has taken the SVP position at Microsoft over both the SQL Server and Visual Studio products--Paul is better able to align the developement cycles of these two huge products. Recently the interdependence of these two products has been the delaying the timelines of both products, this executive management change was made to fix this issue; a lot of things will happen before we see another push in the release date.
