Hi

I am trying to grant access to metadata on a sql server this way :

CREATE LOGIN [NT0001\e47840a] FROM WINDOWS WITH DEFAULT_DATABASE=[tempdb], DEFAULT_LANGUAGE=[us_english]
grant view any definition to [nt0001\e47840a]
grant view any database to [nt0001\e47840a]
grant view server state to [nt0001\e47840a]
grant view database state to [nt0001\e47840a]
grant showplan to [nt0001\e47840a]
use msdb
exec sp_addrolemember sqlagentreaderrole, [nt0001\e47840a]

and I would like to avoid further databaselevel authorizations. However, the account cannot open the database in Management studio without a user or group defined in the database.

Any suggestions will be welcome.

No other shortcuts than put user in sysadmin role, have to create db user for non-sysadmin to access db.
