I am installing SQL 2008 R2 Reporting Services and Integration Services on a server that has a default instance of SSRS AND SSIS.

When I installed the SQL 2008 R2 SSIS AND SSRS, the process installed the correct .NET framework and installed the SSRS correctly.  The completion screen said that the install of SSIS failed with the following summary:

Overall summary:
Final result:                  SQL Server installation failed. To continue, investigate the reason for the failure, correct the problem, uninstall SQL Server, and then rerun SQL Server Setup.
  Exit code (Decimal):           -2068028475
  Exit facility code:            1212
  Exit error code:               25541
Exit message:                  SQL Server installation failed. To continue, investigate the reason for the failure, correct the problem, uninstall SQL Server, and then rerun SQL Server Setup.
  Start time:                    2010-10-06 14:27:35
  End time:                      2010-10-06 14:45:32
  Requested action:              Install
  Log with failure:              C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log\20101006_142525\SSCRuntime_Cpu32_1.log
  Exception help link:           http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink?Link....50.1600.1

I have researched the link and want to know if removing the SQL Server Native Client will adversely affect the instance of SQL 2005 SSIS and/or SSRS?

This is a "sandbox" server so that the DBA's can experiment and clients can use as a proof of concept.  It also has ONLY SSIS and SSRS installed.

Thank you

The default instance is SQL 2005 SSRS and SSIS. The services would need to be stopped during the installation, correct?

Shouldn't if you install sql2k8 r2 as named instance.
