Hi

I need to separate the data-contents of a char(63) column. Example data-contents can be:
[description 11.50 9.0]. So i need to grab the description into a separate variable and then put the first integer into another variable and then the last integer into a thrid variable. The description length can vary but what is relatively consistant is that there is a description followed by two integer values.
Please note that the description can be text or a number value.

thanks

ok as an example...lets say the data is as below

[multiple words 11.0 18.0]

so yes like you say the only delimiters to use would be multiple spaces that signify the end of the description and the beginning of the first number value, space andthen the second number value. The description can contain multiple words with spaces in between but there is some saving grace I guess in that if there are at least 3 or 5 spaces then we can say that the end of the description.

so how can i do that in code?

actually in some instances the numbers at the end will have either one space between them or in otherinstances two spaces between them.
