I have SQL 2000 transactional replications that I need to drop some articles out of.

I have attempted the sp_droparticle stored procedure from the publisher. The stored procedure returns a 14046 message, "Could not drop Article. A subscription exists on it."

Do I need to execute the sp on the subscriber first?

I have looked through BOL and find nothing that talks specifically about unsubscribing articles. Do you have an example by chance? I assume that it is done wtih a stored procedure.

Thank you.

Under the Replication Subscriptions folder on the subscriber, I have right clicked on the pull subscription that I want to modify. I picked Properties.

I find no list of the articles that are subscribed to and thus it is not blatantly obvious on how to unsubscribe one article from a subscription in the em.

I realize that I am probably missing something very simple, but if someone could walk me through the steps to unsubscribe one article or point me to the KB article that lays it out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

RM, Thank you.

The sp_dropsubscription and sp_droparticle do the trick.
