Has anyone successfully completed an MSDN ISO CD image install of Reporting Services? I can install and uninstall the 120 day eval version without a problem, but despite 3 seperate downloads and multiple CD burns, all we manage to get is "unexpected error installing this package... error code 25619" when we run the CD install. We get this same message on win2k, win2k AS and win2003 EE os boxes running sql 2k EE sp3a.

I just installed MSDN version this past week on a couple machines. Installed on IIS websites, SQL sample databases, and Visual Studio project tools on different machines.

I had a similar problem - found the easiest way to solve it: Call them and order the CD's to be delivered. I didn't mind waiting a few weeks and just paying for shipping.

I have had no trouble burning CDs from the MSDN download or just unpacking the ISO with IsoBuster (
I'd try the latter while waiting for the CDs to come from yor licensor.

Whoa... I just looked at the error number, sorry.
Try this: resync your IUSR, IWAM, and Metabase passwords, KB297989:
It can cause this error.

Thank you dmcdowell!
I had the same problem (error code 25619). After I used Adsutil.vbs to obtain the Passwords of IUSR_ComputerName & IWAM_ComputerName from IIS Metabase file then changed accounts to Match the IIS Metabase Password, I'm able to install Reporting Services successfully on my Win2000/SQL2000.

Did you attempt "Method 2" in the KB article "Change the IIS Metabase to Match the IUSR and/or IWAM Passwords"?

No. I haven't try the 2 method. But 1 method yes.
