I am new to SSIS. I have worked alot with SQL Server 2000 as an ETL tool. In the past, I have used an .EXE file to generate a random batch_id that would be used throughout the ETL Data flow. This would distinguish datasets in staging tables.

Does SSIS have any built in functionality as far as batch ids and batch tables are concerned?

Thank You,

Marc,

I am not aware of built-in batch id facility in SSIS.

However, you can store the batch id in an SSIS variable in case you have to use it at different points in the control flow or data flow logic.
