I have started to "play" with SSIS and created a package with the Export/Import wizard. I saved it to the Sql Server. I would now would like to review it, but I can't find the saved package. I know that it was saved to the MSDB database.

Russell,

I do that and I get:

Failed to retrieve data for request. Additional information: Client unable to establish connection. Encryption not supported on SQL Server. (Microsoft SQL Native Client)

This machine is running SQL 2000 and SQL 2005 Developer with SQL 2005 being a named instance.

So you cannot even register the server under Integration Services?

If you can register it, establish connection to Object Explorer to see the published packages.

Or you get the message in connection with the package?

When in Business Intelligence Development Studio, there are options for security settings related to the package prior to build and deploy.

I connect to the database engine which is the named instance.

Then I connect to Integration Services and that is when I get the Failed to retrieve message.

Urgent need help from anybody reg.SSIS Packages on 64 bit

We are currently facing the problem with building 64 Bit SSIS pacakages(located on DB Server..which is 2003 Server Edition, 64 Bit) with connecting 32 bit oracle(loaded on the App Server..Windows 2003, 32 bit) in Business Intelligent Development Studio(Integration Services) with Sql Server 2005 64 Bit. We have installed 64 bit Oracle client and network tools and drivers on Database Server(DB Server), but we are still unable to connect from to Oracle from the BIDS for making the 64 bit SSIS packages.

Please give guide me towards the steps for testing SSIS packages which are in 64 bit Using XML files?

how to proceed towards making these packages??

Thanks

What is the error log saying? Have you turned on logging?

What is Microsoft saying?

Hi, I got an error as:

test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider.
Oracle client and networking components were not found.
These components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are of the Oracle version 7.3.3 or later client software installation.

provider is unable to function until these components are linked.

How can i solve this?

Thanks
John

Is there an ORACLE client installed?

It can come from Microsoft or ORACLE.

Look for more details in the logs.
