I'm using AS 2005, I'm trying to create a cube using the wizard and AS 2005 is detecting my Dimension tables as being fact tables and when I try to switch them to Dim table, it will not let me go further. Does anyone know how to get through this? These are reference tables and they do not link directly to a fact table.

Thanks!

You have to make sure that the PK - FK relationships are setup correctly in the data warehouse.

You should get a star schema without any change when you create the souce view(make sure this is correct, no extra stuff ).

Ok Now I understand the problem.

I have a few tables that are joined by tables just with IDs in them.

For example:

Table A
aID
Name
Rank
SN

TableB
bID
...
....

TableAB
aID
bID

The tables that are like AB are coming up as fact tables. What do I do?

So when I went through the cube wizard again. I uncheck though tables.
TableB linked directly to a fact table so that was correctly detected as a Dim table, but since TableA did not directly link to a fact table I had to manually create a dimension for it but there is no way for me to link it to a fact table.

I know this is kind of detail but I need some help. I probably need to change my schema alittle.

Thanks!

OK What about TableAB? Should I even care about that table?
