Using the marvels of the new Visual Studio 2005 Team Edition for Database Professionals, my colleagues radically renamed my source database's schema, tables, and columns. When I refreshed my DSV on the new schema, BIDS deleted everything existing in the DSV. Cool, but not useful.
The basic data is the same, so I'd like to conserve my measures, dimensions, calculations, KPIs, display formats, etc., to the extent that I can.
Is there an automated tool or best practice or something for handling massive changes to the data source database's schema. Search and replace in the XML files?
