First, I'm in the process of redesigning a cube in AS 2005. Does anyone know of any good books, websites or anything that could help a beginner? Just to fill you in a little. Some of the data that the cube would use would be updated daily and from what I read so far is that the database does not need to be fully denormalized. Like I said, I'm a beginner.

That is correct, star schema is generally not normalized uses FLAT dimension tables.

SNOWFLAKE schema is generally associated with 3NF data warehouse design.

If you are concerned with performance, stick with the STAR schema.

The brunt of the work is designing the dimension tables (fact table design is simple), and populating the fact tables. Once you've done that, the real fun begins with OLAP cubes.
