Help,

I need a tool or need to build a tool with which clients can browse a cube preferably using the UMD. The cube needs to be accessed through the IE browser. Is there anything like that out there?

What is UMD?

The easiest "free" tool is Excel 2007 (not free SharePoint/Excel Services).

Cognos 8 (analysis studio, formerly PowerPlay) has web-based access, but cost money. Same for ProClarity (migrated to PerformancePoint Server).

ProClarity is what we use. As far as I know the client is a desktop app, not a web app. Unless the new version (productivity server) allows it now. But it is a great tool and very user friendly. It is a bit expensive.

Yes Proclarity is excellent Cube viewer, and not near free.

PerformancePoint Server is basically ProClarity "serverized".

You can use use "web" excel to get to OLAP cubes.
